I have been to the Sandbar once before and really enjoyed it so getting off school at 1pm last Friday I jumped at the chance to head over for a late lunch.
I just so happened to have acquired a gift card for The Sandbar. I gotta say what an awesome restaurant, they used one of my pictures on their online menu in return for a gift card woot woot! So off to Granville Island I went with my girl in tow.

Toredo Lounge

From Mon-Fri 3-6pm in the Toredo Lounge they offer a special known as "Mussel Mania" which includes a choice of three different types of mussels, fries and a pint of beer for $10.
Quite the deal if you ask me.

First came the complimentary bread, we quickly ate a couple pieces since we were hungry, but saved the rest to dip in sauce later on.

Granville Island Hefeweizen

White Zinfandel

I went with the Hefeweizen to drink, and my girlfriend got a glass of white Zinfandel..it looks pinkish to me..
Not much to say here, beer is beer and I enjoy it.

Thai Coconut Mussels

Now onto the main attraction, so for $10 you get what you seen in the above picture, plus the pint of beer.

We opted for the Thai Coconut Mussels because we both enjoyed them last time.

I didn't count the exact amount of mussels, but I think it is a great deal for the portion you get, I often see mussels at restaurants for upwards of $15 so this is quite ideal.


BBQ Ribs

Since we were sharing the Mussels, I ordered some Ribs to get some more protein and to fill me up.
My girlfriend didn't enjoy these, much to my delight because I got to eat them all..to be fair I let her eat most of the Mussels.

I know this has been a long post so I will end by saying, this is one of my favorite deals in Vancouver..not just because I got a gift card, it is so affordable so try it out..I am going to try and bring my pops here sometime when I get the chance to go back home.
