Brit's Landing - Fish & Chips in North Delta

North Deta, the pinnacle of fine dining, a culinary exploration of the many tastes of the world..

OK I will be serious now. North Delta does not exactly have a huge selection when it comes to eating out. This neighborhood restaurant is right down the street from my house and I have never been here before. It was pizza or something else tonight, my brother and I opted for fish and chips.

This place I believe is under new management now or the old place had simply just been bought. The name and interior of this restaurant has changed since I last went (about 5 years ago). I can not recall the old name for this place but I remember the interior was kind of neat, it had a feel like you were on a wharf inside a ship or something, with the wooden barrel's and thick ropes.

The style inside has changed now and there is a London/British theme to the restaurant. The interior hosted a plethora of different posters of scenes from London. Having travelled to London last summer I enjoyed the pictures.

I ordered the Brit's platter, which included 3 scallops, 2 oysters, 2 prawns, 1 piece of fish, and fries. I got the seafood sauce to drown my little sea friends in. At $17 this meal was a little expensive for the amount you get. I could have easily eaten another piece of cod along with this.

The Cod and Prawns were very good, I can't say the same for the oysters and scallops. Scallops can be hit or miss for me depending on how they were prepared. The batter wasn't very greasy either which was a plus for me.

My bother got the regular 2 pieces of cod with chips. I shared a prawn with him, the greedy little not didn't even offer me a bite of his fish..
I've had fish and chips in London last year a couple of times and honestly taste wise they were quite similar. Here in Canada they don't serve peas on the side, so if you like peas you may be disappointed.
My biggest qualm were the prices here. My brother's two pieces of fish and chips were $14. There are a lot better deals out there for the same amount of food. The fish however tasted really good. In North Delta I know of only one other fish and chips place but have never been there so I can't give a comparison of the two.

There seemed to be a steady flow of customers, not full by any measure but people were coming. I think this place caters more to families because a starving student like myself could not afford to eat here very often. The amount of food I need to eat to get full is hard to find at a decent price sometime.

Verdict:-Fish and Chips tasted great
-Liked the London themed interior
-Prices are a little high for a student
-Wasn't big on the scallops and oysters

  2. I too went there, it's awesome. However I disagree with it being too expensive, the price of food these days have increased dramatically and I would prefer paying a little more for a great quality product unlike other fish and chippy's I've been to, not naming names..."cough" " C-Lovers"..... Lol

  4. Anonymous, If I had a steady income I wouldn't bat an eye at the prices, I like to try and eat for a bargain although that doesn't always happen.

Thanks for your imput, i'll pass on the mushy pea's though aha
