Siegil's Bagels - Kitsilano

Ah Siegil's Bagels.. this place really brings back memories. Back in high school in grade 9 (6 or 7 years ago) I believe, we used to go to laser shows at the Planetarium and on the way home while, waiting for the bus on Cypress and Cornwall we would often find ourselves drawn to this 24 hour Bagel shop nearby. At that time I was too cheap to buy any food, but today, while on my way to Kits beach I had a hankering for some Montreal Smoked Meat and remembered that this place had it.

After a brief look at the menu, I was sold on The Reuben - $7.95 Hot Montreal Smoked Meat, Melted Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut & Regular Mustard

I opted for the Rosemary Rocksalt Bagel to host the Reuben ingredients. While waiting for my sandwich I observed one thing..it was exceptionally hot inside there.. I guess the ovens generate a lot of heat while they crank out bagels 24 hours a day.

I thought the Reuben was great but it lacked a bit in size, for just under $9 (with tax) I wish there was a bit more of it, I could have happily ate another.
The was a plethora of other bagels to chose from and lots of difference sandwiches and toppings on the menu. I really like places like this because you can usually find something for even the pickiest of eaters.
I thought this sign in the store was kind of funny. I am not Jewish, and love is a a pretty strong word, but I quite enjoyed the bagel, there was no love here but some pretty strong feelings were felt.

If you are going to Kits Beach, the Planetarium, or at Granville Island check this place out. Lots of options and some tasty food...Get ready to sweat if you're dining in because it is toasty in there!
